Background

Emily grew up in the lower mainland of British Columbia and attended the University of British Columbia where she received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and History.  She received her law degree with honours and distinction from the University of Alberta in 2008, and was called to the bar in September 2009. 

Areas of Practice

After completing her articles with Johnston Ming Manning, Emily joined the firm as an Associate and has a general litigation practice, including personal injury, insurance, employment, human rights and family law.  Emily is a trained collaborative lawyer and has a strong interest in this alternative method of dispute resolution.

Community Activities

Emily is a member of the CBA and CABA.  She is also a volunteer with the Community Legal Clinic.  In her spare time, Emily enjoys singing, dancing and musical theatre.  While attending law school, she acted as the Musical Director for the Faculty of Law's annual law show.  Emily is also an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, snowboarding, golfing and other sports.  Her favourite times are spent at home with her husband and their two cats.
