Background Sandra grew up in Red Deer, attended Red Deer College for two years, and then completed her Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Calgary in 1993. She attended the University of British Columbia, where she earned her Bachelor of Law degree in 1996. Sandra returned to her home town in 2001 to join Johnston Ming Manning LLP where she carries on a business law practice. Sandra was proud to become a partner of this firm in 2006.

Background Born in Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1976, Chad graduated from McCoy High School in Medicine Hat. From there he entered the University of Lethbridge, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. In the fall of 1999 he entered into Law School at the University of Alberta, and graduated in 2002. He articled in Red Deer at Johnston Ming Manning LLP, and was called to the bar in July, 2003. Chad practices litigation with this firm. He became a Partner in January 2008.

Background
Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Grant received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary in 1997. After completing his bachelor of laws degree at the University of Alberta in 2006, Grant was called to the Alberta Bar in 2007. He articled with Johnston Ming Manning LLP and joined the Partnership in 2011. Grant and his wife both feel privileged to have been welcomed into the Red Deer community over the last several years.
Areas of Practice
Grant's practice is focused on civil litigation with an emphasis on commercial litigation work, particularly debt collection and construction law. He also does work involving real property, employment law, and estate administration.
Professional and Community Activities
Grant is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, and a volunteer lawyer at the Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic. He has worked on projects for Pro Bono Students Canada and several other charities. He spends his time away from work in pursuits such as SCUBA diving, scrambling, hiking, camping, skiing, and traveling.

Emily K. Anderson, B.A., LL.B.

Background
Emily grew up in the lower mainland of British Columbia and attended the University of British Columbia where she received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and History. She received her law degree with honours and distinction from the University of Alberta in 2008, and was called to the bar in September 2009.
Areas of Practice
After completing her articles with Johnston Ming Manning, Emily joined the firm as an Associate. She is currently developing a corporate and commercial practice and also practices in the area of family law. Emily is a trained collaborative lawyer and has a strong interest in this alternative method of dispute resolution for family matters.
Community Activities
Emily is a member of the CBA and CABA. She is also a volunteer with the Community Legal Clinic. Emily currently volunteers with the Law Society of Alberta on the Retention and Re-Engagement Task Force. In her spare time, Emily enjoys singing, dancing and musical theatre. Emily is also an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys hiking, snowboarding, golfing and other sports. Emily and her husband enjoy travelling and spending time at home with their two cats, Fred and Ginger.
Emily is currently on maternity leave.

Nadine M. Arendt, B.A., LL.B.

Background Nadine grew up in Red Deer, attended Red Deer College for two years, and then transferred to the University of Alberta where she graduated first in her class and was awarded the Duncan Alexander MacGibbon Gold Medal in Political Science for the highest academic standing in the Political Science Honours Program. She then continued her education with the Faculty of Law at the University of Alberta, where she graduated on the Dean’s List, receiving her law degree with honours and distinction. As a law student Nadine was an articles editor with the Alberta Law Review and was selected to compete in the national Corporate Securities Moot and the national Laskin Memorial Moot. Nadine returned to her home town in 2012 to join Johnston Ming Manning LLP where she carries on a corporate law practice.
Nadine’s legal experience comes from a variety of settings which include articling with the Alberta Court of Appeal and Court of Queen’s Bench in Calgary, working as an associate in the corporate departments of three large international law firms in Toronto, New York and Calgary and working as Legal Counsel with the Corporate Finance Group of the Alberta Securities Commission. Nadine is called to the bars of Alberta (the Law Society of Alberta), Ontario (the Law Society of Upper Canada) and New York and was awarded the Stuart Thom Prize, the Robert J. Cudney Prize and the McCarthy Tétrault Business Law Prize for attaining the highest grade in the business law component of the Ontario Bar Examination in all of Toronto. Nadine is interested in taking on new clients and would be pleased to assist you with your business needs.
